December Aberdeen Chapter Meeting: Build Your Own Private AI

Hi Everyone. Happy Holidays to you all!

Here is a summary of what you missed at our last meeting:

James Ott Jr. welcomed everyone, and led a discussion on setting up a local AI server using a Proxmox virtual environment. James Ott Jr. demonstrated the installation of Open Web UI and Ollama using Proxmox helper scripts and explained the benefits of a closed local server for protecting sensitive Business Identifiable Information (BII) and Personal Identifiable Information (PII). The participants also discussed using Proxmox in production environments, its VMware import capabilities, and the administration features of the AI platform, such as model selection, resource utilization, and providing AI response feedback.

We hope to see you all next year at our January Chapter Meeting
